Accreditation with IPSAC: A Simple and Supportive Process
The International Private Schools Accreditation Council (IPSAC) is dedicated to supporting small and new U.S. curriculum schools worldwide by offering a streamlined and accessible accreditation process. Our goal is to ensure high educational standards while keeping accreditation practical and achievable for schools of all sizes, especially small schools with limited time and resources for complicated administration work.
How to Join and Get Accredited
1. Application & Code of Practice
Prospective schools start by completing an online application form and agreeing to the IPSAC Code of Practice, which outlines essential commitments to quality education, ethical governance, and student well-being.
2. Questionnaire & Document Submission
Schools fill out a self-assessment questionnaire covering key areas such as:
Curriculum and instruction
Assessment practices
Grading and standardization
Teacher qualifications
Child protection policies
Data and record-keeping
Supporting documents (e.g., school policies, sample lesson plans, or student evaluation processes) are uploaded to verify compliance with these standards.
3. Online Inspection
Once the documentation is reviewed, IPSAC conducts a virtual inspection via video call to assess the school’s operations, teaching methods, and compliance with best practices. This inspection allows for direct dialogue and clarification of any points raised during the review. It will include a virtual tour of your offices and school premises. For online schools this might mean the sharing of your screen in a video call to enable us to get an idea of your systems. For most schools we might also ask you to use your smartphone to show us around any classrooms and other facilities. For schools in preparation we can still provide accreditation if we are satisfied that you enunciate your vision clearly and are planning carefully.
4. Accreditation Decision & Membership
Full Inspection Report
An official IPSAC accreditation certificate
Access to IPSAC member resources
The right to display the IPSAC accreditation logo
Accredited schools pay a modest annual membership fee ($280 for schools with up to 50 students, $380 for larger schools) to maintain their status and benefit from IPSAC’s growing network.
5. Ongoing Compliance & Renewal
Accredited schools undergo a biennial compliance check (every two years), which includes:
A self-assessment update
A follow-up online review
This ensures that schools continue to uphold IPSAC’s educational and ethical standards while allowing room for growth and improvement.
Why IPSAC?
IPSAC is designed for small and independent schools that may find larger accrediting bodies daunting. Our approach emphasizes practical, achievable standards while fostering a community of schools committed to excellence.
